Industrial mixing tanks are a type of mixing vessel; for example, the imPULSE™ disposable mixer is suitable for bioprocess mixing applications. Its design features include innovative disc mixing technology, a touchscreen control panel, and integrated sensors.

This type of mixer ranges in capacity from 30 L to 5000 L. For example, the 1000 L model measures 158.43 cm x 153.82 cm x 234.88 cm, is made of stainless steel, and has a maximum working liquid volume of 1136 L and a minimum working liquid volume of 1000 L.

Mixing tanks are used in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries for material mixing, homogenization, and dissolution processes.

In the biotechnology field, disposable mixers (such as the imPULSE™ S.U.M.) can be used for a variety of bioprocess mixing applications, including culture medium preparation, final formulation steps, buffer preparation, use as harvest containers, merging and liquid transfer, product suspension, multi-batch mixing and storage, and virus inactivation.
